“Scandal-ous cover”

Hello darlings,

One thing you may not know about me is the fact that I don’t like to watch TV. I feel that it’s such a waste of time and I totally rather be on the computer for hours, multitasking. But on Thursdays, as soon as the clock hits 10 PM, (Do you know where your children are? πŸ™‚ ) I tune in to ABC to watch what I think is the best show on television. That’s definitely a subjective statement since that’s the only show I watch but you get my drift. Ha! I’m a Scandal addict.

If you’re an avid fashion magazine reader, you would have noticed that the gorgeous Kerry Washington has graced the cover of nearly every magazine lately and on every single one of these covers, she looks absolutely amazing. Here are two of my favorites:

1. Maxim magazine – Australia – July 2013

2. Vanity Fair magazine – August 2013

Doesn’t she look amazing?! The styling, the poses, the hair and the makeup were absolutely impeccable on both of these covers, in my opinion and they really reflect her great sense of style. However, I’m sure you know there is a big ‘but’ coming. Take a look at Kerry’s December 2013/January 2014 Lucky Magazine cover:

I mean seriously! What was the Lucky magazine team thinking?! It seriously took me a while to even recognize her. I can’t think of a red carpet moment where Kerry wasn’t on my Best dressed list but somehow they managed to make her look like she underwent an unsuccessful plastic surgery. She even appears to be a bit older than she actually is. I’m not fond of the hairstyle, the makeup is definitely not the best that I’ve seen, I don’t like the dress,  nor do I like the scarf. How this team managed to make me dislike a woman I’m absolutely infatuated with, I will never know. I’m not usually this blunt, but I couldn’t help but express how flabbergasted I was with this terrible cover.

I would like to hear you guys’ thoughts. Please weigh in below and confirm that I am not the only one who finds it to be absolutely hideous.

Thanks for reading,

For me, personally, I am fiinndg more and more that it is not good for me to be alone. I love my privacy and personal space, but not having others real nearby for me to connect with or my kids to play with is not good. Simplicity is my other biggie. The more simplified my home and life is, the more likely I am to invite people over spur of the moment, just show more hospitality in general. So maybe I need to rid my life of more stuff to allow more people in. Maybe we need to (dare I say it) move again To a smaller home with easier access to people to in turn improve the quality of community around myself and my family. Ok, and my pride may be something I sacrifice as well! πŸ™‚

While this seems like common sense, I must say that I’m not good at it, and nieehtr are a lot of entrepreneurs I know! After many years of screwing it up, I’ve figured out that this is an important task for me to outsource rather than ignore. Thanks for the great reminders Kerry!
