The Coco Gawdess: Printed shift dress + chunky heels

Printed shift dress (1)

Spring has finally sprung and it’s time for tunics. There are many mornings where I find myself late to work or unwilling to iron, and I call these my tunic days. I love tunics because they are effortlessly chic. They come in great prints and fabrics and are usually one-stop-shop pieces, like rompers and jumpsuits, meaning a complete outfit only missing accessories!

This particular tunic was a thrift store find, and one of my most worn to-date. It has a colorful, geometric print, but the colors aren’t so bright that the print becomes overwhelming. The black and white in the print break up and balance the baby blue, red and orange tones. It is a more sophisticated print, but the slightly deep V-neck keeps it modern and a bit sexy. To keep it light and really bring out the 70s theme of the dress, I opted for gold, chunky-heeled sandals. It has a modern twist on the 70s trend and gives the look a resortwear, Newport News vibe, great for vacation, the beach or even a boat party. I let the dress speak for itself accessories-wise, since I didn’t want to compete with the print.
