Thou shalt not kill. PERIOD!

Exodus 20:13

Thou shalt not kill.
1[1]

I love that this commandment ended with a period. There are no exceptions to this rule. No conditions. No gray area. Under no circumstance, shall you take the life of another human being. Point. Blank. Period.

Thou shalt not kill Whites.
Thou shalt not kill Blacks.
Thou shalt not kill Gays.
Thou shalt not kill Muslims.
Thou shalt not kill Catholics.
Thou shalt not kill Prostitutes.
Thou shalt not kill Thieves.
Thou shalt not even kill those who have killed others.

Our country is in turmoil. Our world is under attack. Our children are at risk.
We have no peace. We have no justice. But we have HOPE! Hope because we are believers. Hope because we pray. Hope because we serve a LIVING GOD who is capable of healing our land by simply speaking a healing word.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

God knew that these days were coming when these instructions were written in the Bible and passed down from generation to generation. Now more than ever, our land needs healing and we have been told what to do in order for this to happen: We must pray. We must seek His face. We must turn from our wicked ways.

In light of the senseless killings that have been happening all over the world, we have all the right and plenty of reasons to be angry. But as it is commanded in Ephesians 4:26, “In your anger do not sin.” Killing more people because we are upset does not solve anything. If anything, it does more harm than good. Justice will not be served when more of us have to be locked up or murdered because of our retaliation and urge for vengeance. The consequence of such retaliation is simply leaving more of our children to grow up without parents.

I will leave you with this message: Use your voice. Speak up. Cry loud. Support Black owned businesses by Buying Black. Demand peace. But by all means, please do not come out of character, inflict pain, or take the lives of our oppressors. Injustice does not come in colors. We ALL bleed red! We are ALL citizens of the world. We all belong to the human race.

Lastly, as Bishop TD Jakes said it best, we are NOT at war against cops or against white people. We are simply fighting injustice but I beg you, let’s please do so without sinning, without shedding more blood.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

Edwina

Girl I couldn’t have said it better. Killing officers is clearly not helping cause that implies we’re doing to them what we’re asking them not to do to us. I truly pray for divine peace in this country and this world.

You’ve been quiet for real but I know everyone is busy! Be well and thanks for stopping by! Stay safe…
