How to style an ankara skirt for work

Remember that one time I shared exciting news about being a brand ambassador for Yetunde Sarumi? Well, I hope you’ve been loving the brand and its new vibrantly colorful collection as much as I have. Previously, I styled the Lizzy jacket (currently on sale!) three different ways which you can refer back to here, here and here. But the new collection went from fabulous to even more fabulous. You’ve got to see the Abby tailored pants! THEY ARE GORGEOUS!!!

This time around I wanted to style a bottom piece so I chose the Kenny Midi Pencil Skirt. If you’ve been following the Versicolor journey for the past few years, you already know that I’m obsessed with pencil skirts. The mid-calf length on this skirt is longer than I would usually go for and it is still a bit loose on me even after I got it tailored but all in all, the colorful fabric is reminiscent of the spring season that we’re all excited to see again after many months of cold weather. If you prefer an A-line skirt, the Ruddie Circle skirt in the same print might be more up your ally.

Outfit details:
YETUNDE SARUMI Kenny pencil skirt (c/o)
ZARA top (sold out) – shop here – embroidered tops are trending!
H&M coat (old)
ALDO booties (sold out) – shop similar options here

To tone this look down a bit for the office, I simply paired it with this pretty black top and black studded booties but the options are endless when it comes to pencil skirts. To those of you who typically shy away from color, I always recommend pairing one colorful item with other neutral pieces and accessories. I plan on restyling this beauty very soon to show the versatility of a pencil skirt so be sure to subscribe and stay tuned for upcoming posts!

If you’re interested in the Kenny skirt or any other Yetunde Sarumi designs, don’t hesitate to support this #BlackOwnedBusiness and use the code VERSICOLOR for 10% off of your purchase. Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Until next time,

Edwina
