How to restyle your favorite dresses as skirts

Blush outfit

In this post, I shared this formal lace dress I wore in Haiti last year to my brother’s wedding. It was the perfect choice for the occasion because of its simplicity. As I’m getting older I find that I gravitate towards chic pieces that make a statement without being over the top and this dress fits the bill. But how could I keep wearing it over and over again?

A year later, I decided to rewear it but since I would be at church this time around, the open back wouldn’t be appropriate. Since I’m always down for a wardrobe remix challenge, I folded the top part of the dress inward and just that simply turned it into a skirt. I finished the look with a blush T-shirt and blazer of the same color (both from Zara) and my favorite nude heels from Aldo for an effortless pastel look perfect for the spring season.

I am certain no one noticed that I was wearing a dress but that’s the beauty of remixing the items you already own. Looking back, I would’ve done without the earrings and bracelet… The necklace makes such a statement that it didn’t need to be competing with no other accessories.

Such a great tip! I actually started doing this a few months ago. I feel like a genius whenever I come up with new outfit combos.

This is genius! I never would have thought of folding up a dress to wear it as a skirt but Iโ€™m this absolutely works. I love the lace, the color (of course) and that statement necklace that I will be borrowing on Sunday ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lol! Thanks bestie. I have to speak to management to see if you can borrow what already belongs to you ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ Whatโ€™s mine is yours and vice versa ๐Ÿ˜

Used to think social media was the enemy when it came to my favorite pieces but just as you did I found that there are great ways to remix a piece without people noticing it’s the same outfit.
    Great Post, Love the assembly!

We really can be our own enemy when it comes to thinking that all our followers will remember what we have in our closets. Most of the time they donโ€™t even notice but in case they do, thereโ€™s always the trick of styling it a different way. Thanks for reading hun! Appreciate the feedback! ๐Ÿ˜˜
