Floral jumpsuit | Shopping tips for building your wardrobe

“Power is gained by sharing knowledge, not hoarding it.” – Unknown

Floral jumpsuit (1)

Whenever I go to a store and find a pretty multicolored item, my first thought is: “This is definitely #VersicolorApproved.” When said item is only $15, well girl, you know I’m heading straight to the register. Steals like this are the reason why I swear by Zara’s semi annual sale. I might not have bought this if it was full price because of the fact that the back is open which means I can’t wear it year round but with a price tag this low, the fashion gods had me sold! Keep on reading for 3 tips for building a functional wardrobe for your lifestyle.  Continue reading “Floral jumpsuit | Shopping tips for building your wardrobe”

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” – Gustave Flaubert

Haiti 2016 (41)
You guys may not know this about me but I’m a prankster at heart and I love surprises. My pranking habit has died down a bit now that I’m older but let me tell you that April Fools’ day was something I looked forward to every year. One that comes to mind was the time I called my sister in Florida when we were really young and told her that my cousin in NY was pregnant. While my mom and sister are freaking out, I called that same cousin in NY and told her that my sister was pregnant. I let the jokes go on for the entire day and didn’t reveal that I was joking until the sun had set. Lol! Good times! 🙂 With that said, this summer, an opportunity came up for me to pull a major surprise and I was not about to miss it. Here’s what happened:

African print dress + lace up heels

Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up. – Allen Klein

Ankara dress + crochet braids

I’ve considered taking an extended break from blogging because posting about something as trivial as fashion in the midst of such sad times in the world seemed a bit insensitive. And then I thought about what this blog stands for: It was created to bring color to your cloudy days, your wardrobe and your lives as a whole by way of positive messages and kaleidoscopic clothes. So wouldn’t it be nonsensical to stop spreading my little bit of light when the clouds are getting darker? Color is needed now more than ever so color I bring to you today my darlings!

Thou shalt not kill. PERIOD!

I love that this commandment ended with a period. There are no exceptions to this rule. No conditions. No gray area. Under no circumstance, shall you take the life of another human being. Point. Blank. Period.
