Dubai travel diary: Gold Souk and Jumeirah beach

From what we understood, the Gold Souk was a flea market where they sold affordable gold jewelry and other things. So on day 6, we made it a point to spend a few hundred dollars to get nice earrings and necklaces that will last many years to come. But once we got off the metro (which was very clean by the way unlike NYC subways), we quickly realized it was a place for someone to buy affordable engagement rings and splurge on other luxurious pieces. Bummer!
