On countless occasions, I leave for work in the morning and have plans to go out that night without the option of coming home to change. As a result, I usually bring different accessories and shoes to revamp my look for the evening without having to change my entire outfit. That is what inspired this two-part look. In my last post “Twirling against the wind – Day look” I wore this dress with flats for a laid back feel.
I was going to pair these yellow shorts with a sheer blouse at first, but I love how they looked with the matching yellow blazer. Short suits have been trending lately and have been spotted on many celebrities.
Clocks have been adjusted forward. Weather is getting warmer. Stores are stocking up on brighter inventory and gardens beam as an array of flowers blossom. These attributes evoke the smoothest melody in our ears, announcing that spring is around the corner:) Time to stow away the coats and get ready for some major spring cleaning. Check out this link for some cool tips on how to keep your closet organized.
For those of you too afraid to mix prints, wear bright colors from head to toe or even color block with pastels, here is a trend you can easily incorporate into your wardrobe this season: starting with neutral colors (black, white, grey, tan) and adding a touch of neon. The possibilities are endless when it comes to doing this. You can simply dress in black and white and add more of an edge to your outfit by adding neon accessories whether it is a bright statement clutch, gorgeous shoes and even neon jewelry. As you may know, us New Yorkers have been snowed in for a few days and thankfully, I did not have to go to work so I have been hibernating in my PJ’s hence why I have not posted any OOTD (Outfit of the day). However, since Valentine’s day is around the corner, I decided to put together two outfits to give you some ideas on what you can wear either to dinner or wherever else people go with their significant others on Valentine’s day.
The first look: I think this outfit is very simple, with a touch of sexy and definitely easy to recreate without necessarily having to go shopping. The turtle neck sweater dress is from Guess (old) and I just added a pair of suspender tights. To add a pop of color I added a blue clutch from H&M with a fuchsia band and also blue suede cap toe pumps from Aldo. Gold hoops are also from Aldo and the statement ring is from Afaze.
I have gotten a few requests from my readers to create a work look that would not necessarily require heels. I love my heels and I do stay in them all day but that is definitely not for everyone especially if there is a lot of walking in the job description. However not wearing heels does not mean one has to sacrifice being stylish.
I hope you all like this look. Let me know your thoughts in the comment box below and if you have any further request, you can either email them to email@example.com or send us a message on Facebook.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I have been staying in and looking forward to the long holiday vacation coming up. I don’t really have much planned but sometimes it is best not to have any plans and being a bit spontaneous.
If it is something I love, it is a bargain. How could you not? In this post, I mentioned wanting a bright colored coat this winter.
As I browsed through H&M’s sale items last week, I saw this royal blue coat with gold zipper accents and I started hyperventilating as I usually do when I stumble upon a good deal. When I checked the price tag, it was 50% off! As you can imagine, I felt like a kid in a candy store and could not wait to put it on. I quickly grabbed both sizes 2 & 4 to see which would fit best. I like my coats to be fitted and sometimes it is very hard for a small girl to find the perfect fit.
Both sizes fitted me just as snug so I went with the 4 to allow extra room for layering. Blue is my favorite color so the decision-making process became that much easier.
I was so happy to see the print mixing trend take off these past few seasons. Growing up, I was always told that I cannot wear various patterns together and until a year ago, I never strayed from that concept. As much as it can show off one’s sense of style, print mixing can easily become a fashion faux-pas if not done correctly.
