My favorite seasons are hands down spring and summer (that’s expected from a Caribbean girl like me I suppose) but if there’s something that I look forward to when the temps get cooler, it’s the stylish booties and fabulous jackets we get to sashay around in.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ― H. Jackson Brown Jr.
“I am in competition with no one. I run my own race. I have no desire to be better than anyone in any way, shape or form. I just aim to improve, to be better than I was before. That’s me and I’m free.” – Unknown
It is totally a coincidence that I’m publishing this post – wearing green on Saint Patrick’s day. I did not even remember the holiday because it’s not really celebrated in my culture but nonetheless HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY to you all!!!
This outfit is a simple and comfortable attire that I achieved simply by wearing a green cardigan under my sleeveless green blouse. It is still cold in New York City so we can’t quite give up on layering as of yet. To complete the look, I wore studded leggings which can be replaced by a pair of jeans for a daytime look.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the pictures.
“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.” -Audrey Hepburn
This is going to be a super quick post as I am currently on my lunch break at work. This look is my ‘go to’ type of outfit because you simply can never go wrong with a pair of jeans accessorized nicely with a pair of gorgeous heels and a blazer. It’s easy, comfortable and chic. I have always been on the fence when it comes to wearing high waisted trousers – denim or disco that is. It is one of those trends I always liked to see on others – more specifically girls on the thicker side, but never had the guts to try it myself.
These high-waisted Guess denim have been in my closet for quite a while and by that, I mean years. I don’t recall ever wearing them – not once. I still have not worn them anywhere but decided to snap a few pics after playing dress up over the weekend. Some may think this trend is played out but we all know how things are in the fashion world; it will be back. So tell me what you guys think. Is it a go or make it stop?!
A new year has begun and I know many of you might have made a resolution of not buying as many pairs of shoes as you did in 2012; and some of you might have already broken that resolution and that is ok. “No new shoes this year” said no fashionista ever:-)
If you are a shoe lover like myself, I think I may have found the perfect solution to our shoe dilemma. As much as I would love to take credit for this genius idea, it was Sandrysabel Ortiz who turned every girl’s problem into the business model I should have thought of years ago. According to her website, so cleverly titled theheelcondoms.com, Ortiz “wanted to take her closet of shoes in her suitcase” every time she traveled. Given the ridiculous luggage weight restrictions imposed by all major airlines, packing more than a couple of pairs at a time was virtually impossible; “that was when the Heel Condoms idea was born.” says Ortiz. Basically, the heel condom completely changes the appearance of your basic pumps. They come in an array of colors and can be replaced as often as needed. Here are my favorites:
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I wanted to share with you all my outfit for church yesterday which was very comfortable with a pop of color.
Everyone one around me seems to have the flu (my boss and photographer included). I am trying so hard not to catch it. Please be careful out there and wash your hands endlessly. I want to thank my boyfriend for filling in my photographer’s shoes for the day; I love the pictures:)
It’s unbelievable that we are having 60-degree days in New York City in the middle of January. It is usually in the teens by this time of year but I am not complaining. I’m an island girl therefore for me, the warmer, the better.
On January 1st, I attended my friend’s birthday dinner in this lace number. The back is actually completely open but I did not get any pictures of it unfortunately. I am not sure where it’s from because I ‘stole’ it from my best friend. That’s what friends are for right?! 🙂

As midnight hit on 12/05 (the reverse of my birthday 05/12) my blog officially launched, champagne bottles popped open, pictures captured the moment, and I was all smiles and overwhelmed with the support of my loved ones. Despite being tired from work, they all made it their duty to come show their support as I embarked on this new journey. I will forever be thankful to God for blessing me with such a great support system.
