“I don’t think people change. I think they definitely mature. But I think the essence of what I am today is the same as when I was five years old. It’s just maturity. I’ve become a healthier, fuller expression of that essence.” – Ricky Williams
Outfit details: Topshop skirt – love this & this // Necessary Clothing crop top // Boutique9 pumps // MK Selma bag
I have started to notice a change in my style – actually I want to call it an evolution rather because this change is happening with just a tweaking in the styling of items that I already owned. I haven’t shopped in what feels like ages but lately, I’ve been gravitating towards softer color palettes and more classic looks rather than the more trendy outfits. I’ve noticed also that you, my lovely readers respond so much more to anything that screams simplicity! I’m assuming it’s because you can actually picture yourself wearing some of these things (like my latest casual weekend look) – which is great.
With age you do learn that the best things in life are the simple ones that still somehow manage to leave a lasting impression. I think that’s the vibe I was going for with this look. A pop of color with a pastel colored skirt, paired with a black crop top long enough to show just a hint of skin, classic black court shoes and my new favorite black Michael Kors Selma bag. I love it!
But this change, could it be part of the whole growing up thing? *cringe* Oh oh! Someone’s getting old… but let’s just call it maturity! π
