Since I don’t watch much TV, one of my guilty pleasures is to watch short clips of the Steve Harvey show and other talk shows on Youtube. (Any of you guys a fan of The Real? Love these ladies!) I digress… On one episode, Steve featured the owner of a company who started selling her DIY products on Etsy and has grown her business to the point where it is now projected to make $2 million in sales within the next year. That seriously had me thinking about how many of us have dormant talents within us just waiting to be discovered. Imagine? The colors of this outfit remind me of Gucci’s colorblock collection a few seasons ago that took the fashion world by storm. Given the fact that this pencil skirt is very simple, I decided to use my blazer as a top to bring an unexpected twist to the look. The skirt gifted to me by the lovely designer Maryam Garba features a front slit that I absolutely adore. The fabric is very thin and breathable, therefore would be perfect for the warmer months. Since the lining is also from a lightweight material, it can be a bit difficult to conceal the lines from your tucked in top but otherwise, you just can’t go wrong with pencil skirts in general especially since they’re wearable year round.
