I attended my cousin’s fundraiser party for her nonprofit organization last weekend. The theme was denim and white and when I found this Nanette Lepore chambray top with pearl details at Burlington (YES girl, Burlington!) I knew I was ready to support this fundraiser in style ๐
My outfit was a hit but that pales in comparison to the success of this event. To have people in your life who are caring, generous and selfless enough to be raising thousands of dollars to help underprivileged families is truly a blessing. Although I had a blast dancing the night away, I left the event feeling super inspired and absolutely grateful to God for blessing me with a circle of genuinely awesome people who simply inspire others by living a life that gives God glory. As of today, the GofundMe page created for this cause has raised $1,365 out of the $2,000 goal. If you would like to support Camp of Hope’s mission to give children in Aux Cayes, Haiti the opportunity to unlock their potential, please click here. I pray and believe that God will repay you tenfold!
I know when it comes to donating, there is always a concern of whether or not the organization in question will stay true to its mission and actually help those they claim they want to support. That’s where integrity comes in. People of integrity like my cousin Danael who founded Camp of Hope, have a lot to lose if they don’t remain true to themselves and their purpose. Their reputation absolutely precedes them so it is important that nothing jeopardizes that. So I watch her work diligently everyday as she is living her purpose because she has a lot of people counting on her… But “a person who has nothing to lose will help you lose everything you worked for. Choose your company wisely.”
The Bible says: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” -Prov 27:17. Do the people in your circle sharpen you? I keep writing posts about friendships such as The art of friendship & Discernment in friendship because I truly believe that it is crucial to be surrounded by people who will make it difficult for you to remain complacent and unproductive. Your peers can help reveal your purpose but if you’re with the wrong crowd, they can also stop you from reaching your destiny, and what a shame that would be! The question remains: Is the company you keep #FriendshipGoals?
OUTFIT DETAILS
NANETTE LEPORE top via BURLINGTON
ZARA Blazer
AMERICAN APPAREL high waist denim (old)
H&M Purse
ALDO pumps
If you thought a pair of black pumps matched every outfit in your closet, then you must try a pair of nude ones and you’ll be totally obsessed. I have been wearing these shoes nonstop since I purchased them for Easter and they literally make every outfit look sophisticated. It’s also a known fact that nude heels elongate your legs so that’s a double win in my book. This particular pair has a blush tone to it so it will so good with all the pastel colors I intend on wearing this Spring! The muted hues will tone down the bright Summer colors and complement the earthy Fall shades as well. Talk about a year-round staple. Trust me on this one. You NEED a pair… or 3!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Until next time,
