It is the coolest thing to see that so many people are able to generate additional income from what used to be their side hustles. The internet has made it even more possible these days for creatives and freelancers to monetize their skills and talents. But before your passion can grow from hobby to business, you must take yourself seriously so that others take you seriously as well.
One of the first things you can do when getting your business off the ground is to create professional business cards for networking purposes because we all know business relationships can make or break your business. With that said, what should you include on your business cards?
I was super excited when Basic Invite reached out to me to test out their stationery service (not to be confused with stationary). Don’t be fooled by the name though; Basic Invite isn’t just an expert at invites. You can get wedding place cards, thank you cards and pretty much anything printable. Since I was looking to redesign my business cards, it was the perfect opportunity for me to test out their service and I couldn’t wait to spill the beans and tell you guys all about my experience.
When designing business cards, you have to make sure they fit well with your brand. The previous cards I had did not really flow with my website and my social media pages. This time around, I was sure to use the same colors and fonts in order for my cards to serve as an extension of my site. In the front, my cards include not only my website’s name but my first and last name as well. I added my title and the link to my site along with a head shot. You will notice that the photo on my business cards is the same one that I have on my website, my Instagram, my Pinterest, my Facebook pages. That creates uniformity and makes it easier for my brand to be recognizable no matter where my readers look me up.
When flipped over, my card contains my tag line, my social media handles and my phone number. Some prefer not to include their phone numbers and only hand write it on the back when they deem it necessary. I personally didn’t mind adding mine so that’s really a matter of preference. As far as social media handles are concerned, they are a must for influencers who leverage their social platforms to show the extent of their influence.
I really recommend Basic Invite for all your stationery needs from generic business cards, professional business cards, and even photo Christmas cards now that the Holidays are around the corner. Their easy-to-use site made it easy for me to change fonts, sizes and colors and preview my design before ordering. If you’re planning an event and are on the market for invites, you’d be happy to know that Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows custom printed samples of their actual invitation so their clients can see exactly how their design will print as well as the paper quality before placing their final order. If that isn’t enough of a perk, they provide almost unlimited colors to choose from in both invites and envelopes. Lastly, if you’re into the glitz and glam, you’ll love their foil cards which are available in gold, silver, and rose gold.
Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. If you’re interested in designing and ordering from them, don’t forget to use the code to get your discount.
