I was at brunch with a couple of my girls one Sunday after church when one of them mentioned that her mother had a mild heart attack as a result of worrying so much about one of her adult children losing his job. Her mother is a devout Christian and regular church goer but despite this fact, when the tests of life came knocking on her door, she allowed it to stress her enough to become ill. No judgment there. We’ve all done it. Some of us are doing it right now. *Slowly raises hand*
The thing is that none of us are exempt from problems; As a matter of fact, when we sign up to be Christians, we basically sign up to live a life of trouble but what makes all the difference is the faith that we have in a big God who miraculously always finds a way to turn our tests into testimonies. So why do we still worry? Why are we still unsure that God will stand by His Word and work everything out for our good? 365 times, the Bible tells us, do not be afraid, fear not, do not worry, but yet and still, it seems that our human nature fails to align with what we claim to believe.
Pastor Mike Todd of Transformation Church started a series called Crazy Faith in which he defined faith as ‘thoughts and actions that lack reason but trusting fully in what you cannot explain’. He explains that faith is not just believing that God can; It’s trusting that He will. If you haven’t listened to this series, I highly recommend that you do. It puts so much in perspective and shows us how we can hold our doubtful thoughts captive and start living boldly in faith. I encourage you, as I encourage myself to not just be a Christian on Sunday morning but may we live out loud for the Lord, exercising the gift of faith He has given us to supernaturally believe, without doubting, what He has revealed.
Until next time beauties,
