If you’re looking for fashion inspiration that includes luxury items, as it currently stands, Versicolor Closet is not the place for you. I think the most expensive item in my wardrobe costs $250 and that was because I was treating myself while on vacation. As I’m growing and becoming more mature in how I dress, I have enjoyed getting inspiration from my peers who wear and style luxury items beautifully.
I want to emphasize that it is not wise to purchase luxury good to seem cool or to appear rich. That mindset is not welcome here. However, while being stylish on a budget, we can be inspired by our counterparts and eventually level up only when our finances align with our lavish wants. Let’s never spend more than we make, trying to keep up with the Joneses because honey, the Joneses are broke, okay?!
Now that we got that disclaimer out of the way, let’s indulge and check out my top 5 favorite luxury black bloggers who share their finest sartorial finds on the internet:
Fashion Steele NYC
I’ve been following Monroe Steele for as long as I’ve been blogging. I couldn’t believe it when I recently found out that wasn’t her real name. Anyway, she has always been the queen of sample sales and now that she has transitioned from being a physical therapist to blogging full time, she has amassed an amazing collection of luxury items especially shoes. If that’s your thing, you can follow her on instagram, or on her blog or you can check out her Youtube channel.
High Low Luxxe
Another favorite of mine is the fabulous Jenee. I discovered her on Instagram a few years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. She shares luxury shoes as well but at heart, she is the queen of purses. She’s really good at mixing luxury items with high street items hence the name High Low Luxxe. Definitely check her out on Instagram, Youtube or her blog.
Hint of Glamour
Alicia is the only one on this list that I’ve met in person. I hosted an in-person event for my blog’s one year anniversary in 2013 and she came. Since then, she has gotten married, disappeared off social media while she had a baby and came back full force with daily outfit posts on Instagram. I truly admire her consistency as a blogger who works full time and is a mother. Her taste in fashion is pretty unpredictable which I like. She pushes the envelope and tries so many different styles at different price points and in various colors and it’s always all so good. You’d enjoy following her and sprinkle your wardrobe with a hint of glamour.
Style Pantry
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it a million times before but Folake is the first blogger I discovered on Facebook and she’s the one who inspired me to start blogging. I’ve been following her for almost a decade now. She has her own boutique and shares colorful outfit ideas on her blog daily. I would love to meet her in person and also take a peek at her closet which includes all things luxury for sure. Check her out on Instagram and check out her store if you like what you see.
Pockets and Bows
The fabulous Brittany shares the most amazing hauls on Youtube. She is a plus size blogger who loves all things fashion and beauty but I also love checking her out amazing decor in the background of her videos. It doesn’t matter that I’m not plus size myself. I love fashion and support any women whose style is fabulous. If you want to see style done well, head over to her Instagram and Youtube channel.
That’s all for today folks. I appreciate you stopping by. Are you following any of these beauties already? Let me know who your favorite style inspirations are.
