“Whether you eat or drink, or whatsoever else you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
I remember choosing this verse in High School to be added as my yearbook quote. I know that WHATSOEVER I do should bring God glory but is that always the case? As Christians, we are called to constantly grow and become more like Christ so it is imperative that we call ourselves out when our habits don’t align with God’s Word.
Over the weekend, I went to the laundromat – that’s the non-glamorous part of living in NY that no one tells you about; having a washer and dryer in your apartment is a luxury over here but I digress. When I packed up my clothes to leave, an older woman came up to me and said “Excuse me, were you raised by your grandmother?” To which I answered no, with a questionable look since I didn’t quite understand the basis of her inquiry. She then went on to say that the way that I folded my clothes with so much care was reminiscent of the way grandmothers taught their granddaughters how to fold and that she really enjoyed watching me do that. I shared with her how my mom always insisted that we fold our clothes properly. We laughed about it and went on our merry way.
This brief encounter really had me thinking about the fact that we are always being watched even when we don’t notice it. For this reason it is imperative that every moment of our lives reflect the love of Christ. How we do our work when our boss isn’t looking matters. How we react when someone cuts us off on the highway matters. What we feed ourselves matters. How we take care of our bodies matters.
This blog for example could have just been a diary of my looks but I make it a point to always share a positive message as a way to bring God glory. However, bringing God glory doesn’t always have to mean “preaching” or fulfilling a particular religious obligation. Dressing modestly brings God glory because it shows that we respect the temple that is our bodies. Working with integrity brings God glory because it shows that we work as unto the Lord and even folding clothes with care shows our gratefulness for the things God has blessed us with and nothing brings our Heavenly Father more joy than a grateful heart.
Whether you start by watching your language or by being intentional about the content you are ingesting daily whether on TV or social media and even the music you listen to, there is a small way we can all make a change in our lives to be a light. Try holding the door open for someone who’s behind you or cover your coworker’s load today because it is possible for every moment of everyday be an act of worship. That’s how we can all “go forth and make disciples of all nations.” – (Matt 28:19).
So what habits will you change today to make your daily routine equivalent to worship? Can’t wait to read them all in the comments.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading 🙂
Great Post!! It definitely makes me observe many ways that my actions could be more worship-like at work. I answer hundreds of calls a day and after a while, I’m so mentally exhausted and tend to complain. I have got to do better in this area! Thanks for sharing!

Girl yes! I can totally relate but keeping in mind that we should be working as unto the Lord will convict us in the midst of our impatience and help us to be more compassionate even with the difficult clients. Thanks for stopping by!
I like the nude shoes with the outfit.
