Life lesson learned from having a cold

You know when you have a cold and can only breathe through your mouth for days? I found it interesting that even when I started to feel better and was no longer congested, I still kept breathing through my mouth. You see, the habit became the norm during my illness and before I knew it, what was abnormal became comfortable.

A comfortable place isn’t always a fruitful place.

As I caught myself unnecessarily breathing through my mouth, God revealed to me that many times, we get so used to living in dysfunction that we think it’s the norm. What are you making an excuse for today that deep down, you know is dysfunctional or less than God’s best for you? It’s time to make a change. A comfortable place isn’t always a fruitful place. Ask God to help you make the necessary changes so that you may live a life of purpose, where you’re able to step out on faith, no matter how uncomfortable it is to take the first step without seeing the whole staircase. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
