Nowadays, so many millenials have a side hustle and are thrown into the business world without any formal business degrees. With that said, continuing to learn the ins and outs of growing a business in the digital world is crucial. Even for those of us who have business degrees, what you learn in school becomes obsolete so fast that you have to remain a student if you’re going to adapt to the new way of doing things. It’s nearly impossible to have a thriving business if you’re afraid of changes and pivoting.
Since we’re always on the go, podcasts have really been beneficial for me since I can listen to them as I drive or as I’m performing another task, even while showering. Talk about maximizing your time! And there’s no one I rather listen to than a successful black woman who can inspire me to achieve greatness. Here are my current favorite black female entrepreneur podcasters:
Side Hustle Pro
I have loved listening to Nicaila Matthews Okome for a while. She primarily invites guests who are women of color to break down how they’ve gotten started in their businesses. It makes success for anyone seems attainable but it is particularly inspiring for a black woman to see her peers winning. I love it.
The Nicole Walters Podcast
I discovered Nicole Walters on Facebook when one of her videos popped up on my feed. She is hilarious. I initially followed her because I enjoyed her home/family content but then I discovered that she was a business expert. You’ll enjoy her show.
The Mattie James Show
I’ve been following Mattie for years. I have watched her blog grow from a hobby to a lucrative side hustle to a full blown business. She is the reason I am currently on this consistency challenge. Mattie has the heart of a teacher and really loves to see her tribe win. Her advice may be geared for influencers but I believe anyone who wants to monetize their brand in the digital space will find her content helpful.
Myleik Teele’s Podcast
The creator of Curlbox, Myleik needs no introduction. She has been dropping gems on the interwebs for years. As a mother, she has managed to balance entrepreneurship and motherhood and shared the lessons learned and helpful books that have blessed her along the way. I can’t wait to attend one of her My Taught You Retreats.
This bedazzled mini skirt is a beauty that I got from H&M years ago. Although the original price was $199, I walked out with it on super sale at $7… Couldn’t believe it. I’ve featured it on the blog here and here before. My muscle tee is from the Flamingo shop. See how I styled the white version here. My heels are from Steve Madden and the sneakers are by Michael Kors. Are you team sneakers or team heels for this look?
The Secret Sauce to Success
The lovely Monique Rodriguez is a Registered Nurse who used her knowledge of nature and science to transition into becoming the owner and CEO of Mielle Organics. I have heard her speak on Instagram but very recently discovered her podcast. I love that she not only shares advice on how to take your passion into a successful business but also vulnerably shares how she solved mistakes that she’s made in the past. Definitely check her out.
I hope you’re making a note of these podcasts or at least bookmarking this post for later. Enjoy your weekend & see you next week God willing.
