You guys already know I’m all about colorful looks all year round but there’s something classic about neutrals that one can’t deny. In today’s look, I’m pairing white high waisted trousers with a nude bodysuit and my favorite oversized blazer. These unique black shoes (similar here) also add an interesting touch to an otherwise simple look.

I realized that one of the reasons we tend not to have anything to wear while having a closet full of clothes, is because we are missing the basics that are necessary to build an efficient wardrobe. Before purchasing endless statement items, it makes sense to have some of these items that will stand the test of time, such as: a black blazer, a camel blazer, a pair of tailored trousers, neutral bodysuits, a faux leather jacket, a denim jacket, a white button down or T-shirt or both and a great pair of sunglasses.

These are just a few examples of items that can be dressed up or down depending on the vibe you’re going for. When paired with your favorite statement pieces, they balance out the look effortlessly. So before buying all the trendy items this season, take inventory of your wardrobe and see where you can fill in the gaps with the basics.
